How does a small organization like Family Dog Rescue save over 800 dogs a year? With the help of our amazing volunteers! The opportunities are endless and we are able to accommodate almost any schedule or skill level. We ask volunteers for a minimum commitment of two hours each week and welcome volunteers to come as much as they would like beyond that!
We love having families and children volunteer at the shelter together. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, relative, or legal guardian over the age of 18. The guardian must be a trained volunteer or attend a Volunteer Orientation along with their child, as well as sign a release of liability form. Teens between the ages of 14-18 are eligible for our Summer Teen Internship Program as well, which allows them to intern over the summer without their legal guardians.
In addition to in-shelter volunteering, we also have event volunteer opportunities and a foster volunteer program. If any of these options seem like a great fit for you, fill out an application today to become a Family Dog Rescue volunteer!*
